Your cargo shares container space with other shipments, so you pay for the space you actually use rather than an entire container.

However, don't look only at the ocean freight rate. LCL shipments may also involve origin handling, warehouse, documentation, customs clearance and destination charges.

What matters is the **total logistics cost**, not just the basic ocean freight rate.
